Keeping it Real: Diets
In the past I used to think there was a “magic” pill or bullet that would melt away all my extra weight, and make the things that were out of balance in my life better again. That if I eat this food or that food I’d feel better and look amazing.
Wishful thinking on my part.
These past 3 years now, I’m discovering that there is NO magic to losing weight, feeling good or to balancing life issues.(Darn it!) I just have to live MY life. Eat what’s best for MY body, not someone else’s, like I see on TV, who appears to have their shit together (That’s the image being sold to all of us, and I bought into it hook, line and sinker!)
In other words, I need to walk MY path, MY way.
There is NO one diet or lifestyle out there that fits all. The reason being, we all are different. Yep, it’s THAT simple, yet we all struggle and try so hard to find that “magic”. This thought process of mine was confirmed and reinforced the other day during a lecture in school.at Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching. When I heard the following I almost fell off my chair, “Different people thrive on different diets & lifestyle choices, because everyone IS different & there is NO one-size-fits-all diet.” Joshua Rosenthal. He went on to explain why this is. It all boils down to the many factors that make us who we are: heritage (genes), gender, weight, activity level, lifestyle, location, just to name a few.
I want you all to take a look at YOUR factors, look at who you truly are, hold loving space for that beautiful soul. Then when you are ready, perhaps start to live and eat as only YOU need to, not someone else.
